WHO WE ARE

We're Refreshi.

South Africa's first food rescue app. On 10 March 2025, we placed our very first orders in Stellenbosch — and we haven't stopped since. Today we connect surplus food from local restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and cafés with everyday South Africans at up to 50% off, across Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

WHAT WE DO

We rescue surplus food.

Every day, food businesses end up with perfectly good meals they can't sell. We turn that surplus into Surprise Bags — mystery meals at a fraction of the original price. For bigger bulk surplus, Refreshi Exchange connects vetted buyers and sellers directly. Two platforms. One mission: making sure every meal finds a home.

WHY WE DO IT

Because waste is a choice.

±45% of all food produced in South Africa never gets eaten. 20 million people go to bed hungry each night. That mismatch is not inevitable — it's fixable. Every bag rescued is one less meal in a landfill, one more family fed, and one more business thriving.
